March 10, 2025Stop by the community room to pick out seeds for your spring garden. From 5:30-6:30 join MSU Extension Wayne County Educator Lindsey Kerr as she talks about how to start cool season crops (like cabbage, kale and broccoli) as well as warm season favorites (like tomatoes, peppers and eggplants). Each participant will take home a small pot of seeds to start at home. Registration is required by calling 734-283-1250 or by stopping by the circulation desk.

April 29, 2025On Christmas Eve 1913 73 people died (mostly children) in a stampede following a false cry of "Fire!" at the Italian Hall in Calumet in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The tragedy occurred during a miner's strike in the "Copper Country”. Make plans to attend to hear the rest of the story. Best suited for ages 13+.
