Ebooks

TAKE the OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE FREE ACCESS to eBOOKs and AUDIO BOOKS at the RIVERVIEW PUBLIC LIBRARY

Reading DevicesWhen browsing the Enterprise Catalog, you have likely noticed that now many book selections are not only available in print form, but are also available as eBooks or Audio Books. For example, the Enterprise Catalog shows that Mary Higgins Clark’s new book, “As Time Goes By,” is available through the Riverview Public Library (RPL) in Large Print, in regular print, and in 3 Electronic Formats: ADOBE EPUB, HTML, and KINDLE (formats vary depending on the book). Take advantage of whichever medium meets your needs.  All that is required to access e-publications is your RPL Library Card Number, your RPL Library Card PIN, and the Overdrive App.

The OverDrive App is available free at Google play for Android devices, at the Apple App Store for Apple devices, and at the Windows Store for Windows devices. If you do not receive email notices of software updates for the App you are using, you should occasionally check the appropriate website (above) to find out if an updated version of the software is available.  This will prevent you from possibly experiencing (infrequent) erroneous results when reading, checking your bookcase status, finding that some reader functions do not work properly, etc.

Just as with hard copies of books,  if all electronic copies of a book are out, you can place a Hold Request online for the item. If you have any difficulties, let the library staff know and we will be happy to place a Hold Request for you.  Most often, Hold Requests are filled within a few days.

If you want to browse all available e-titles or you already know an e-title that you want, go straight to Download Destination. Online help for beginners is available on our library website eBook Help Page and for all levels of users at Overdrive Help. You may also stop by the Circulation Desk and ask a library assistant!
